Ascent Aerospace has officially opened its first plant in Mexico, located in Mexicali, Baja California. The plant's infrastructure, which was built in the new industrial park Calafia II, has more than 50,000 square feet and room for expansion. The factory is being established as a world-class welding and metal fabrication center and intends to eventually create 100 new welding and advanced manufacturing jobs in the city of Mexicali.

The company is one of the world's largest tooling and automated assembly manufacturer in the aerospace industry. Companies such as Airbus, Boeing, UTC, and GKN are among its customers. Ascent manufactures molds for composite aerostructures, tools for the assembly of large parts and turnkey assembly lines for the most important aircraft programs in the world.

The American aerospace group is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, and has more than 900 employees around the world. Ascent has a total manufacturing area of ​​780,000 square feet, plus the new Mexicali plant, and more than 1.5 million hours of annual tool manufacturing capacity.
